PowerSource Micro-Grid Operations encompass distributed generation applications in rural electrification and development. These activities center on our Community Energizer Platform™ (CEP™), a combined livelihood and infrastructure services platform built around a hybrid (renewable and conventional) micro-grid electrification system. PowerSource is granted a 10-15 year exclusive franchise to generate and distribute power in a specified rural area. Capital investment is recovered from the sale of electricity and development services over the life of the franchise. In this context PowerSource is an innovative leader, having secured the Philippines Department of Energy’s first Qualified Third Party certification pursuant to the recently enacted Electric Power Industry Reform Act. The CEP™ pilot project in southern Palawan , Philippines , has been in operation for over three years and is solidly profitable.

CEP™ Selection Criteria PowerSource applies standardized criteria to identify local communities for CEP™ installation.
