PowerSource

The PowerSource Group specializes in the application of hybrid distributed generation solutions for corporate institutional energy management (PowerSource Energy Services) and rural electrification and community development (PowerSource Micro-Grid Operations). In each sector PowerSource deploys hybrid power generation platforms drawing on a customized mix of biogasification, photovoltaic, wind, exhaust heat recovery cogeneration and conventional diesel and/or natural gas generation. Each sector is highly scalable and produces substantial carbon credits from avoided carbon dioxide emissions.

PowerSource Energy Services Operations apply distributed generation solutions to the supply-side management of large institutional (e.g., malls, hotels, resorts, hospitals) energy costs. A hybrid co-generation, photovoltaic (or alternative renewable) and conventional fuel generation platform operates either in parallel with or in lieu of the public utility grid, providing guaranteed minimum energy cost savings under an Energy Savings Performance Contract financed by PowerSource. The customer and PowerSource share the resultant savings over the 10-15 year life of the contract. The legal structure is in essence a build-own-operate-transfer (BOOT). Energy Services projects are currently underway with a number of large shopping malls, hotels, resorts and process plants in Southeast Asia and the Western Pacific.

PowerSource Micro-Grid Operations encompass distributed generation applications in rural electrification and development. These activities center on our Community Energizer Platform™ (CEP™), a combined livelihood and infrastructure services platform built around a hybrid (renewable and conventional) micro-grid electrification system. PowerSource is granted a 10-15 year exclusive franchise to generate and distribute power in a specified rural area. Capital investment is recovered from the sale of electricity and development services over the life of the franchise. In this context PowerSource is an innovative leader, having secured the Philippines Department of Energy’s first Qualified Third Party certification under the Philippines Electric Power Industry Reform Act. CEP™ facilities are currently operating successfully in Palawan and the central Vizayan region of the Philippines. Additional development is underway throughout the Philippines and Indonesia.
